Queenstown day 2

 A crazy day in Queenstown

Unfortunately, we were not able to do the canyon swing. However, we still had an AMAZING day!

As a backup, we decided to go to iFly for indoor skydiving, and later that afternoon, we would be going on a zipline! The best part was, we were able to do both of those, twice on each activity, for cheaper than the canyon swing COMBINED.

I remember going to the iFly in Toronto when I was younger, so I was SUPER pumped for it, so was Delilah!

All suited up and ready to go!

It was a while before our turn, but at least it wasn't terribly long.

We went into the other room for "pre-flight" briefing. When it was our group's turn to go in, I was up first!

I'm going in!

I BELIEVE I CAN FLYYY!!!!

All done my first go!

Now it's Delilah's turn!

When I was starting my second go, my shoe just came flying off. LOL

There goes my shoe

They had to shut off the fans in there so my shoe could come down, but once we got it back, and tightened it up very well, we were back in action!

High-fly time!

After an amazing indoor skydiving experience, we all decided to go off and do our own thing. I decided to go off on my own and feed the seagulls, and grab some lunch. I ended up having a plate of sushi, which I really enjoyed!

After that, it was almost time to head to ziplining! I was a little scared of it at first, but I liked it so much that we ended up doing it a SECOND time!

Weeeee!

After our zip-lining experience, we decided to go to Ferg's Burger for dinner, which is rumoured to have the world's best burgers! It was so popular, that on the busiest days you can expect to wait hours to get a burger from there. Lucky for us, because we went as the working week was starting back up, we only had to wait 20 minutes!

No joke on that "best burgers in the world" thing.

After we ate, we decided to share with the seagulls!

They went wild for chips!

After giving the seagulls our leftovers, me and Delilah went back to the hotel, gathered what was left of the bread, and went back to give them another visit!

After we got back to the hotel for real, Delilah was pooped from climbing up the hill. Mum said she was going to the cookie bar, and Delilah, despite being tired from the hill, actually still wanted to go. When they got back, she was exhausted to the point where her legs wouldn't work. But eventually, she got her strength back, and was able to hop into the shower!

Stay tuned for tomorrow people! We will be going on a 4x4 off roading tour on the hills in Queenstown! We will also have a "guest entry" from Delilah from what we did today!

I look forward to it!

Saturday

Good morning Queenstown

We were allowed to sleep in today! Got up at around 8:30 this morning. It wasn't the most interesting day, but it was still very enjoyable!

After breakfast, me and Delilah went into Queenstown for a wander around, and to feed those vicious ducks!

He is trying to snatch my food!

After giving the ducks a visit, we decided to go to the Cookie Time bar for some ice cream! For some reason, we forgot to take photos when we got our ice creams, so we had to go back to do it!

After some ice cream, we ran into a cotton candy stand, so we decided to get some!

Cotton candy!

I really enjoyed it, but at the end it was VERY messy! It was on my face, hands, and I'm pretty sure it got on my wheelchair controller too!

We did get ourselves cleaned up, and then went to McDonalds for lunch, where i had a big mac and some fries!

After lunch, we gave the ducks one last visit before heading back to the hotel!

We are going out for dinner tonight, so I will be putting stuff about that on tomorrow's post!

Tomorrow will be a crazy day! We will be going on the canyon swing tomorrow, which I am quite nervous, yet really looking forward too!

I hope you are looking forward to it!

Off to Queenstown!

The night in Dunedin

Despite the stay in the haunted hotel (which thank goodness I got through last night), we had quite a fun night! We started with getting some pasta for dinner!

Don't worry, that is just grape juice

And then after that, we went to a comedy show where they had local comedians from the South Island!

First comedy show!

Off to the adventure capital!

We got up at 7am this morning, after sleeping a night with the ghosts! We decided to check out early and head out for breakfast. Out of ALL places, this is where we had brekkie this morning:

There was this place called the "Columbus Cafe" inside the Mitre 10, so that is where we ended up having our breakfast

After having a bite to eat, it was time to see the albatross. It was about an hour or so away from where we were

The place was FULL of seagulls!

You can JUST see him!

Sadly, there weren't many of them around today. So eventually we got out of there, and started the long drive to Queenstown! Delilah was sleeping for a good chunk of it! We did also stop at a gas station to grab some snacks!

After a long, 4 hours on the road, it was just after 5 in the evening, and we were arriving in Queenstown!

Trying to get the fridge working in our hotel room

After we were all settled in, we decided to go for a walk to get some pizza for dinner, and went by the waterfront to eat!

We decided to feed the crusts to the seagulls and the ducks, and I gotta say, those were some of the toughest ducks I ever came across! They were jumping up at me trying to steal my pizza!

Expect to be surprised tomorrow, because we don't really have much planned! We will be paying the ducks and seagulls another visit tomorrow, but other than that, nothing planned! If anything cool does happen tomorrow, it will be posted on this blog!

Not the most exciting day

A long drive...

We slept in an hour later yesterday! Got up at 8am this morning. Before leaving Christchurch, we decided to take a quick stop at Northlands mall! I bought some mentos and bubble gum, and we checked out a few other stores. After the mall trip, it was time to head down to Oamaru!

We didn't get up to very much, but we did get to go to the penguin colony! Unfortunately, we weren't allowed to take photos :(

Other than that, It was a pretty good day yesterday! We didn't get up to much though...

Off to Dunedin!

We were up at 7 this morning! There was a restaurant at the hotel we stayed, so that's where we had breakfast! After a bite to eat, we got our stuff together and left the hotel. On the way down, we decided to stop at Steampunk HQ in Oamaru!

I'm the evil dentist >:)

Inside "The Portal"

Steampunk train!

After our Steampunk HQ visit, it was time to drive down to Dunedin!

A winter wonderland

It was snowing a lot on the drive down to Dunedin! And it was even more because we were going through the hills!

We're going in!

After a while, we got out of the hills, and before we knew it the snow was gone! At that point we had already arrived in Dunedin!

We stopped for a hot chocolate, and ordered some curly fries. After that, we checked into our hotel, which is supposedly haunted :O

Check back tomorrow to see if I survive the night...

The day in Christchurch

A visit to Antarctica

Ok, I will admit we did not actually go to the continent, but what we did to was visit the International Antarctic Centre today!

Here we are!

Just chillin out

My favourite thing I did there was experience an Antarctic storm! It was quite cold in there, but I was just wearing my sweater!

Feeding time!

Doggo!

We did a number of other things too, like see a 4D video, but sadly I don't have photos of that...

The whole experience was very short and sweet, I couldn't believe we were done so soon!

After the Antarctic centre, we decided to go into the city to find lunch. After some walking, we ended up at the Riverside market, where we found a sushi conveyor!

Time for lunch!

We were allowed to go explore the city after lunch, but mom and Delilah wanted to go to the cosmetic store again, but I was like "Uh, there is no way I'm going back in there" and excused myself to go back to the hotel!

After having some lunch, it was time to head back to the hotel and take some chill time! Later on, we would be going to get Mexican food for dinner! I ended up having a steak dish with some kind of green herbs, and some potato wedges! Let me also mention, I had a jarritos as well!

It was a really awesome day today, but the fun is still far from over!

Tomorrow, we will be heading down to Oamaru to see the penguins! I'm going to be even more generous and give a sneak peek into Thursday as well! We will be in Dunedin on Thursday to go see the albatrosses! But I'm a bit nervous too for that day because the hotel we are staying in there is supposedly haunted!

Can't wait to share tomorrows adventures with you guys!

Off to Christchurch

 Goodbye Kaikoura!

When we woke up this morning, we quickly got our stuff together and left the hotel! From there, we grabbed some breakfast and got ready to head to Christchurch and pick up my sister!

We gave the seagulls one last visit before leaving

They even ate out of our hand!

After paying the seagulls another visit, it was time to head down to Christchurch! After driving for about 2 and a half hours, we finally arrived to pick up Delilah, and then we headed off to New Brighton to go in the hot pools!

The chair they used to get me into the pool

I'm going in!

Me and Delilah at the hot pools

It did take a bit of time to find the best pool. The first one was too cold, the second one was too hot, but the third one we went in was just right!

After some time in the pools, it was time to get changed and head out!

Some fun on the swing before heading to the hotel!

We then went to check in at our hotel for the next 2 nights. Shortly after that, me and Delilah decided to go into the city to wander around, where she was dragging me around the cosmetics store. I just wanted to get out of there, so every time she showed me something, I just replied with "Ok" and "Cool" and a few other basic words like that.

At the end of the day, we decided to order some pizza while I just chilled out doing my own thing!

Get ready for tomorrow's post, because I can guarantee that you won't be disappointed by this one!

We have a day at the International Antarctic Centre planned for tomorrow, but we don't have anything else planned. If we do happen to other things as well, I will be sure to include it in tomorrow's post!

I am GREATLY looking forward to it!

Day 2

Good morning Kaikoura!

I slept MUCH better last night, went to bed at 9 and rose at 7 this morning!

Unfortunately, the seas were rather rough today, so we had to call off the kayaking trip. I wasn't so bummed out about it though, because I knew that we would come back towards the end of the trip to do it.

As a backup to the kayaking trip, we decided to go on a whale watching tour on a bigger boat. But when we got to the visitors centre to book it, it was still closed. We decided to go see the seals and feed the seagulls at the Kaikoura peninsula!

They were SOO hungry!

The big guys

Seals!

They are getting their breakfast

After feeding the seagulls and seeing the seals, it was time to head to the whale watching centre. When we got there, we were told that we might not get a spot on the boat. Luckly, after some waiting, mom was able to get us on the next sailing!

Ready to go!

When we got out to sea, it was VERY rough! The waves were quite high today, and we were told there was a "moderate to high risk" that there would be sea sickness. They were definitely not joking about that, because nearly HALF of everyone on board was throwing up toward the end of it! Luckly, me and mom were lucky enough that we did not.

Out at sea

When we left the dock, we headed towards the whales.

First encounter!

Not only did we see the whales, we also saw plenty of dolphins as well!

Mom was enjoying it too, until she got her feet wet.
She had to use my shoes for the rest of the day

Back at the hotel

We were headed back to the dock we started at when people were throwing up. The crew were walking past with barf bags, and I was grossed out!

When we got off the boat, we went back to our hotel to chill and take a break. Mom was taking a nap, but thankfully she wasn't snoring so loudly, so I could just play my game in peace. When mom woke up, we went back to the peninsula to feed the seagulls again! Unfortunately there weren't as many this time around.

We then just decided to go get some fish and chips for dinner. We got some blue cod, which is said to be some of the best fish in New Zealand! And I'm not gonna lie, I REALLY loved that fish! They definitely weren't wrong about that one!

Dinner time!

Stay tuned, because you will not want to miss out on tomorrow!

Tomorrow, we head down to Christchurch, the biggest city on the South Island. There, my sister, Delilah will be joining us for part of the trip! Also, we will be visiting the hot pools in New Brighton! (called He Puna Taimoana).

I am SUPER excited for tomorrow's adventures!

Final thoughts

Home sweet home! After spending 2 weeks on the road, we are finally back home! To wrap things up on this blog, I need to say thank you to ev...
